Presented by Marie-Noële St-Pierre / Gatineau, QC The management of tags and graffiti is everyone's business. Gatineau stands out for its Tags and graffiti prevention and support program, outcome of several years of work by a multidisciplinary team. The program’s success is undeniably due to the choice of a preventive approach integrating youth, graffiti artists and all residents in its development and implementation. The program earned the 2009 Mérite Ovation municipale award from the Union des Municipalités du Québec and has three components: prevention, cleanup and by-laws. Each component has specific objectives that are achieved through actions and strategies. The presentation will focus on several concerted actions achieves through years of work proving to be effectives. Omaha, NE
